Villa la Castellaccia is a charming historic residence in the countryside just outside the ancient walls of Sansepolcro, the Tuscan town where the famous Renaissance artist Piero della Francesca was born. The villa was built in the 17th century as the summer residence of the noble Aloigi Luzzi family. Today Luigi and Wilma Aloigi Luzzi have opened the doors of their sumptuous home to those guests eager to experience life in an authentic patrician residence in Tuscany.
Time passes slowly in this stunning period residence, immersed in the gently undulating countryside of the Tiber valley. Guests begin to experience the villa's age-old Tuscan charm from the moment they pass through the wrought iron entrance gates, crafted in the 19th century, and make their way through the gardens to reach the villa. The residence was built in 1614 on the site of an old medieval tower. Once inside the building, holidaymakers find themselves in magnificent halls, the vaulted ceilings of which are adorned with frescoes by highly acclaimed Tuscan artists.
The residence is divided into two wings, one of which is tantamount to a villa in its own right. Comprised of spacious communal areas and three bedrooms, this part of the residence is available for single let and includes exclusive use of the swimming pool, which is located on a panoramic terrace in the garden. An additional two bedrooms are situated in the wing where the owners live and are reserved for bed & breakfast accommodation.
Many of the villa's antique furnishings have been in the Aloigi Luzzi's elegant family home for centuries. Recent renovation work has allowed for the careful integration of contemporary technology and amenities, ensuring the ultimate in modern day comfort.
Three good reasons
- Exclusive use of an entire wing of a 17th century villa.
