A tiny hamlet transformed into a country hotel
Perched on a hill in the rolling countryside just beyond the walls of Rapolano Terme, Laticastelli started life as a medieval castle, built to defend the nearby city of Siena.
In more peaceful times, the fortified edifice was transformed into a farm, around which a small hamlet developed. In recent years, the storerooms, stables and cottages once used by the inhabitants of the hamlet have been painstakingly restored and converted into the beautiful Country Relais Laticastelli.
