In 1975, Camillo and Maria Antonia moved to the island of Salina, in the heart of the Aeolian archipelago, where they transformed two derelict buildings perched on rocks overlooking the sea and bay of Malfa into an intimate hotel. A quarter of a century later, the enthusiasm of the owners has remained unaltered and Hotel Punta Scario continues to be a place in which to experience the incredible beauty of the Aeolian islands, surrounded by magnificent views of the sea and the nearby islands of Stromboli and Panarea.

Hotel Punta Scario's simple bedrooms are furnished in typical island style, with pristine white walls and bright majolica floor tiles. Quintessentially Mediterranean, the rooms lead out on to a balcony or terrace, from where breathtaking views of the sea can be seen. All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning and satellite television. Superior and Premium rooms also have a well-stocked minibar.

Guests dining at Hotel Punta Scario's sea view restaurant are presented with enticing menus featuring the island's excellent fish and seafood as well as the occasional inland specialty such as sweet and sour rabbit, capers with mint, and sautéed peppers.

A vacation at Hotel Punta Scario is, above all, one spent by the sea, lazing in the sunshine on the island's beaches, enjoying a boat trip around the Sicilian archipelago or swimming in the warm, crystal clear water which laps the island's beautiful coastline. A great choice for divers, Salina has a highly renowned center for free diving. Overlooking the sea of the Bay of Malfa, Hotel Punta Scario is situated on one of the most beautiful of Sicily's Aeolian islands: Salina. With its dramatic coastline, dotted with enchanting little bays, secluded inlets and paradisiacal beaches lapped by the warm Mediterranean sea, Salina is the perfect destination for a seaside holiday to remember, a holiday which might easily include a trek through the lush vegetation carpeting the slopes of the island's two extinct volcanoes. Located in the center of the archipelago, Salina is the ideal base from where to head to the neighboring islands of 'Lipari, Panarea, Stromboli, Vulcano, Alicudi and Filicudi. In the town of Malfa, the hotel sits on the north side of the island and just 7 kilometers from the ports of Santa Marina and Rinella. Regular hydrofoil services to the island depart from the Sicilian cities of Messina, Milazzo, Cefalù, and Palermo.
