An inn, the Hapsburgs and an Indian elephant
The origins of the hotel date back to the 16th century. In 1550, when the property was known as the Am Holden Felde Inn, the Archduke Massimiliano of Austria kept an Indian elephant, present from the King of Portugal to the Hapsburg family, in the stables here. From that time on, the Inn became known as Hotel Elephant.
Art, antiques and Tyrolean Stube
The hotel's stylish interiors are adorned with precious works of art and beautiful items of antique furniture.
Nearly all of Hotel Elephant's spacious bedrooms lead out on to attractive balconies, typical of Tyrol.
