Hotel Ciasa Salares
(4 Star Hotels) San Cassiano
A family home with a spa and a Michelin star - in the Dolomites
Three reasons why you'll love it here
- A romantic retreat amidst the meadows of Val Badia
- La Siriola: award winning cuisine in the Dolomites
- Vives Spa: wellness and beauty in the mountains
It takes a whole lot of passion to create a fabulous four star hotel amidst the wooded mountains and high pastures of Val Badia. But then passion is something that the Wieser family, who opened Hotel Ciasa Salares in the heart of the Dolomite mountains some 50 years ago, have plenty of!
Just like in a fairytale
Ciasa Salares' bedrooms and suites are just the way you had dreamed they would be: fragrant wood, soft quilts, pretty ornaments, hand crafted furniture and windows and terraces with view of the Dolomites.
Where once there were just 13 rooms, there are now 25. But don't worry, the 12 new rooms are identical in terms of style and comfort to the much-love "originals"!
What's inside that bag in your room? A bathrobe and slippers for a day at the Vives Spa. Get ready to be pampered!
Michelin in the mountains
Alta Badia is the most star studded valley in Italy. Four gourmet restaurants in the area have been awarded the much coveted Michelin star, one of which is "La Siriola", Hotel Ciasa Salares's restaurant.
Chefs Nicola Zanetti and Matteo Metullio and ''' are the men responsible for La Siriola's delicious and exquisitely presented cuisine.
In the mild summer months, guests dine outdoors, enjoying tasty snacks and antipasti on the Terrazza. In the evenings, you can choose between a night in the Wine bar, or the Smorting (smoking and flirting) room.
DoloMitici. The name of the group of Michelin star chefs in Val Badia and who, almost by chance, have created a string of gastronomic happenings such as "Skiing with gusto", "Cookery in the square and "the mid-August holiday picnic"
Stefen's celebrity cellar
A veritable temple devoted to Bacchus' favorite tipple, the Cantina di Stefen houses some 21 thousand bottles and 1850 different types of wine!
The hotel's cellar is owner Stefen Wieser's pride and joy: a "cellar in continual evolution", to which over 350 new labels are added each year. Stefan's cellar provides the perfect venue for aperitifs, tastings of the gastronomic specialties made in Alto Adige (from cheese to chocolate!) and for Granny Hilda's "Yummy Market".
Discovering the Dolomites
The spectacular landscapes of Val Badia provide a fabulous outdoor playground for visitors of all ages, with lakes for fishing, plenty of peaks for high altitude trekking and rock climbing, a choice of meadows and woods for horse riding and even a golf club for those who fancy playing a few rounds of their favorite game in the mountains.
Not forgetting (how could you?) that, with some 450km of ski slopes, numerous cross country skiing and snowshoeing itineraries, and rinks for curling and ice-skating, Val Badia and the Dolomite mountains are the best place in Italy for a winter sports holiday.
