The Excelsior Vittoria is a historic Grand Hotel comprising three different blocks built between 1834 and 1880. From the main terrace, a private lift descends directly to the pier in the harbour below, where sight-seers can easily hire a motor boat for an excursion along the beautiful coastline of the peninsula, or take a trip to Capri, Naples and Ischia on one of the many jet boat and hydrofoil services, which operate daily. Almost all rooms have a terrace or a balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples or the beautiful hotel grounds. The historic suites are tastefully furnished with original period furniture and have a terrace looking out over the Bay, affording splendid views and spectacular sunsets.

The "Enrico Caruso" suite, very much in demand, retains the same décor and furnishings as when the famous Italian tenor stayed there for more several months, in 1921. The "Pompeii" Suite is decorated with frescoes inspired by the most handsome villas in nearby Pompeii.
